An pencil and paper exam, in class on Wednesday, including short answer questions, predicting the output of given code, and writing small bits of code. The in-class portion of the exam is closed book, Web, and notes, except that you may bring a 3"x5" card of handwritten notes.
Two additional take-home questions, distributed in class on Wednesday and due Thursday at 11:59 p.m., for which you will write a complete program or debug a given program that does not work. The take-home portion of the exam is open book, open notes, open Web, but closed person. You may not ask for help or offer help solving these problems. In particular, you may not ask classmates, lab aides, or mentors for help with your code or algorithms. You may ask clarifying questions of me or Prof. Exley, and of course you may ask for help using the lab computers if needed.
